[ninf-users:00096] Ninf-G 2.4.0 is now available

Dear all,

We are pleased to announce that the Ninf-G Version 2.4.0 is now
available for download at the Ninf project home page
  http://ninf.apgrid.org/

Ninf-G version 2 (Ninf-G2) is the supporting software for the
development and execution of programs with the Grid Remote Procedure
Call (GridRPC). Ninf-G2 is a full implementation of the GridRPC
API, a proposed GGF standard. In addition to the GridRPC API, Ninf-G2
provides Ninf-G API for supporting 1) high performance on a
large-scale computational Grid, 2) rich functionalities which are
required to compensate for the heterogeneity and unreliability of a
Grid environment, and 3) easy development and execution of Grid
applications.

Using the Globus Toolkit's C and Java API, Ninf-G2 utilizes many
Globus components such as Pre-WS GRAM, GASS, GSI, MDS, and Globus-IO.
Ninf-G2, as an upper middle ware of Globus Toolkit, covers up the
complexity of the Grid and Globus Toolkit and helps the development
and execution of applications that use the distributed computational
resources on the Grid.

Ninf-G 2.4.0 is expected to be the final release of Ninf-G2.

Alpha version of Ninf-G Version 4, which utilize GT4 WS GRAM, is also
available on the Ninf project web site. Ninf-G Version 4.0.0 is
scheduled to be released during SC2005.

If you have any questions, comments, etc., send emails to
ninf@apgrid.org.

Sincerely,
