NAME
GRPC_CALL - Executes an RPC.
SYNOPSIS
INTEGER FUNCTION GRPC_CALL(HANDLE, ...)
ARGUMENTS
INTEGER(KIND=8) HANDLE - The function handle
Other arguments- Arguments that are passed to the function called by RPC
DESCRIPTION
The GRPC_CALL() function calls the function defined by the function handle.
The GRPC_CALL() function is blocked until the called function completes execution.
This function is MT-safe.
LIMITATION ONLY OF FORTRAN API
Fortran API has the following limitations.
- "out" and "inout" type string arguments must not be used as RPC arguments.
- An array argument of string and filename must not be used as an RPC argument.
RETURN VALUE
If successful, GRPC_NO_ERROR is returned. In the case of an error, Error code is returned.
ERRORS
GRPC_NOT_INITIALIZED- GRPC client is not initialized yet.
GRPC_SERVER_NOT_FOUND- GRPC client cannot find the specified server.
GRPC_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND- GRPC client cannot find the function on the specified server.
GRPC_INVALID_FUNCTION_HANDLE- Function handle specified by handle is invalid.
GRPC_RPC_REFUSED- RPC invocation was refused by the server, possibly because of a security issue.
GRPC_COMMUNICATION_FAILED- Communication with the server failed somehow.
GRPC_TIMEOUT_NP- Timeout occurred in session.
GRPC_OTHER_ERROR_CODE- Internal error detected.
